The “Rise & Shine” EP was recorded when producers Sotu The Traveller (Baris Akardere, 1985) and SENSE (Daniel Tiuri Wils, 1985) found themselves with extra studio time, after recording and mixing various projects like Numaads, Shahmen, and Sotu The Traveller’s “Left”. The record’s sound is a distinct blend of SENSE’s signature sample-based beats, and Sotu The Traveller’s soulful sound and experiments with synthesis. The record features guest appearances by Pink Oculus from Numaads, Dutch rnb singer Ninthe, and New York-based rapper Hicoup.

Music producer SENSE (Daniel Tiuri Wils, 1985) was born as the son of a Shaman and initiated into mystical traditions like Sufism from an early age. Through psychedelic-induced experiences as a child, he connected with his own personal deities and psychological archetypes – like the wolf – which would later become the foundation for the imagery and symbolism found in Shahmen recordings. ... more
